Remarks & Notes
In February 2019, Northern Arizona was hammered by records amount of snowfall across the region. Kingman Canyon (3,500' elevation) saw over a foot of snow in a 24 hour period. Higher elevations, such as Flagstaff (6,900' elevation), received 40 inches in 24 hours. Here, in Kingman Canyon, a BNSF intermodal train charges along the canyon's walls as it battles the one percent grade before starting the steeper climb over the Arizona Divide.

Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
