Remarks & Notes
Portland Terminal Company, once jointly owned by the Maine Central and the Boston & Maine, later a subsidiary of the Maine Central, served the local industries in Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook, Maine. Other than two short-lived road switchers, PTM’s roster was entirely composed of Alco switchers, of models HH600, S1, S2, S3, and S4. Here, the brakeman on S2 1054 eyes another nut taking pictures of trains.
