Run…rabbit…run! Near sunset on October 28, 1997, Union Pacific rotary snowplow churns through a snow-filled cut at Arapahoe, Colorado, as a rabbit decides to run to the north side of the track, nicely avoiding the spinning blades of the plow and an avalanche of cascading snow that will soon cover the south side of the right-of-way. The Cheyenne-based plow train was called to clear the “Kansas Pacific” line from Limon to Sharon Springs, Kansas, after an early and severe October blizzard drifted the line closed.
