Party like it’s 1976! Phase III had just been introduced to Amtrak’s fleet and Phase II was very much still in evidence. But in truth this was on the night of Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Washington Union Station. P42DC 130 is the second heritage unit to be painted these colors after 66 was determined to have suffered damage too extensive to repair, and here leads the Cardinal (Train 50). Viewliner II Baggage Car 61061 hold the markers on the Silver Meteor (Train 97) and represents the modern application of Phase III.
