Remarks & Notes |
Cf du Nord 4-6-0 No 3.556 together with 2-8-0 No 4.061 at La Plaine depot, Paris. The 4-6-0 was one of the 150 built in 1908-12 to the design of Gaston du Bousquet that became SNCF class 230D whilst the 2-8-0 on the right was the first of 280 built in 1912-28 to the design of Georges Asselin. They were known as 'Les Boeufs'. It is interesting to note the Alsace-Lorraine wagon loaded with coal briquettes on the far right. Photo by the late George Grigs. |
