Having quenched her thirst at the end of a long day, the crew of Sumpter Valley's 2-8-2 No. 19 prepare to vacate the track by the water tower to allow No. 3, the railroad's 2-truck Heisler, to do the same. Part of a 2 day annual Phototrapher's Special with lighting by Lerro Productions featuring No. 19, an oil-burning 1920 Alco built locomotive that is native to the original Sumpter Valley Railroad and No. 3, a wood-burning 2-truck Heisler, built in 1915 for Eccles Lumber which, though not native to the line, did see sporadic service at original line.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
