Remarks & Notes
Back home in the Pacific Northwest. Polson Logging Co. Mikado #2 looks right at home on the northernmost of the two trestles over Stasek Slough as she hauls a cut of freight cars from Tillamook to Garibaldi on the former SP Tillamook Branch. After spending over 3 decades operating at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in Wisconsin, and finding herself in the center of a protracted legal dispute, this engine was finally repatriated to the Pacific Northwest in 2017. While she's not in her home state of Washington, she's close enough. She's found a home on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, where she's got room to stretch her legs and where people like us can enjoy her. She's a very pretty locomotive and was a star attraction on this 2018 Lerro Productions Photo Charter.
