Remarks & Notes
The seventeen-arch Starrucca Viaduct is a monumental feat of nineteenth-century engineering. Started in 1847 and completed in 1848, it is the oldest stone-arch railroad bridge still in use in Pennsylvania, and one of the oldest in the United States.
