"C-C" or "Rhaetian Crocodile" Ge 6/6 I # 415, built in 1929 by SLM, BBC and MFO as last of the series, is pulling train 1822 from Filisur to Davos Platz through the Zügen gorge. This summer, twice a day the timetabled service is run by the nostalgic train with crocodile, vintage cars and an open observation car on this very picturesque line. The train is just leaving the 232 meter long Brombänz II tunnel, crossing the Landwasser creek on the Brombänz viaduct with a main span of 30 meter, to enter the Brombänz I tunnel immidately. Behind the locomotive are the freight cars K1 # 5615 "Il Grischun" from 1913 and K # 5563 from 1913 (rebuilt with new body in 1950), both renovated by association "Club 1889" and used for the transport of bycicles and baby buggies etc. You may mean that the pantographs of the locomotive are both lowered, but this is not true. The overhead wire is fixed very low here because of the tight clearance in the tunnels. The word "Zügen" means avalanche or rockslide paths. Below the bridge is the old Zügen street, which was built in 1873 and used till 1974, nowadays a walking and biking path.
