Remarks & Notes |
I made 2 trip to Saskatchewan back in 2010-11. There are some cool railroad operations and scenery in this providence. The old wooden elevators of the Canadian Prairies is a must while out here. Some of the nicest elevators left are the ones located on the Red Coat Sub on the Great Western. Here the Great Western heads back to Assiniboia with a couple of their M420 ALCO's.
The Great Western has been in operation since 1999 and runs 440 miles of mainly ex-CP trackage in southern Saskatchewan. The Red Coat Sub is a community owned railway (The Red Coat Road & Rail Ltd) that has contracted the Great Western to operate from Pangman to Assiniboia, |
