Remarks & Notes
0-8-0 cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) crossing the Wiler bridge with a brake test train, in a grade of 11.0 %. This powerful locomotive with separate "Winterthur" drives on the four coupled axles and two double cogwheels, was built in 1923 by SLM Winterthur for the "Compagnie Génerale de Colonies Paris" railway in Indochina from Song Pha (former Krong Pha) to Da Lat. In 1990 it was brought back from Vietnam to Switzerland more or less as scrap. Now it is operational again and looking probably better then new.
