Due to the 21Q derailment, coal trains bound for Conway leave Shire Oaks yard with the road power on the rear and the yard power on the head end. These trains, which usually run through the derailment site, now run over the Port Perry Branch from Duquesne to Wilmerding. Once in Wilmerding, the train joins the Pittsburgh Line. From here to Conway, the road power leads the train while the yard power cuts off after shoving up the grade near CP HOME. Here, NS 740 heads under the Wheeling and Lake Erie bridge entering the Clairton Coke Works with the Shire Oaks yard power leading the train.
