Cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 2/3 # 6 "Weisshorn" of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) is pulling a work train with loaded rails from Realp to Furka over the Wiler bridge. The locomotive was built in 1902 by SLM for the Visp-Zermatt Bahn (VZ), which became the Brig-Visp-Zermatt (BVZ) and then Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB). From 1941 to 1961 running as shunter for the Ems works at Domat-Ems, then plinthed on a children playground at Chur. 1988 donated to the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke and the first operational steamlocomotive from 1989 (in blue and black color). The locomotive was in the work train service this day between Realp and Furka. |
