Remarks & Notes
Evening atmosphere in Dijon Ville, a major junction station about mid-way between Paris and Lyon, with a buffet cart in front of a 2D2 9100 that was then 27 years old and would remain in service for 7 more years. The cart is full of the famous "SNCF sandwiches". Why famous? ... just because they were notoriously tasteless poor-quality sandwiches. Generation of SNCF passengers had nothing else at their disposal than that. Note the flat cars behind the 2D2. Despite being used for containers service, the cars are just standard general merchandise kind of low side gondolas, not specialized flat container cars.
