| The 0-8-0 cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 4/4 # 704 (built by SLM in 1923 for Indochina/Vietnam) is on a test run and stopped on the Wilerbrücke in the gorge of the Furkareuss on the 11.0 % grade. Engineer M.H. and head of project J.K. are checking the complicated separate cogwheel and adhesion drive "system Winterthur". All was o.k., the locomotive is performing perfect. By the way, this two men beside the locomotive were part of the team which made possible the repatriation of # 704 back from Vietnam to Switzerland 28 years ago! |
