A Norfolk Southern track geometry train (NS U48) rolls across Callahan Creek as the train approaches the yard at Andover, VA. The track geometry train is made up of research cars NS 33 and NS 34 and is being pulled by NS SD40-2 6082 (only partially visable). The train first backed to Wentz from Andover and is now moving forward as it works the former Interstate Railroad mainline from Wentz to Tacoma, VA. At Tacoma, the train will make a reverse move on the former Norfolk and Western Railway mainline into Norton, VA.
