"Flying Rhaetian" ABe 4/4 # 501 with according lightweight cars from 1939 is crossing the highest viaduct of the RhB (and second highest railway viaduct of Switzerland) between Davos Wiesen and Filisur. The 89 meter high Wiesener viaduct is 210 meter long and has a parabolic bow of 55 meter main span. It was built from 1906 to 1909. For the inner arch, locally produced concrete blocks were used, placed on a huge wooden scaffold. On the outside, the viaduct was clad with hewn gneiss and granite blocks.
