| The very first steamtrain of the "Steam spectacle 2018" around Trier departed at 6.40 AM from Trier and is now passing the St.Thomas monastery in the Kyll valley on the way to Gerolstein. The former Deutsche Bundesbahn 4-6-2 Pacific express train steamlocomotive, now owned and operated by association "Pacific 01 202" at Lyss/Switzerland, is pulling a typical consist of the steamera with the 3-axle "Umbauwagen" (reconstruction vehicle with new carbody on a old frame, low cost production). The former Cistercian convent of St. Thomas an der Kyll was founded at the end of the 12th century in honour of Thomas Becket. |
