A bright sun greets Amtrak 252 as it passes Bannerman Arsenal on Pollepel Island near Beacon, NY on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The Bannerman Castle Trust has done substantial work in recent years to stabilize this historic building and offer tours of the island. It is one of the highlights of the trip down the "Water Level Route" of the former New York Central even today.
