The end was approaching for passenger service on the Boston & Maine's Central Massachusetts Branch as a solo RDC making an afternoon trip to Boston loaded passengers at the South Sudbury, MA, station, in April 1971. Five months later the Budds were gone from here, and the line itself was abandoned in 1980.
