Remarks & Notes
In 1970, the regular power for the struggling St. Johnsbury & Lamoille County Railroad's daily St. Johnsbury-Swanton freight across northern Vermont was former New York Central GP9s 200 and 201. The pair rattled across a trestle near Danville, VT, on a fine fall afternoon. Two years later the StJ&LC would file for abandonment, which led to a series of new owners and corporate names for the line before it ultimately came to an end.
