Remarks & Notes
Central of Georgia No. 349

This 4-4-0 "American" was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works way back in June of 1891 for the Savannah & Western Railroad as their No. 557. In a consolidation it became property of the Central of Georgia Railway in 1895. It was renumbered as No. 1581 in 1912, and then No. 349 in 1926. In 1950, it was leased to the Talbotton Raiload Co in Talbotton, GA for 4 years. In 1936 it was sold to the Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad, and finally, donated to the TVRM. The locomotive received cosmetic work and paint in 2008.
