| It's not just about steam in Ely. As Nevada Northern Railway's two steam locomotives, No. 40 and No. 93, come to life in the engine house on the other side of the brick wall...all is quiet inside this side of the building as Alco's 105 and 109 wait for the car to come out later this afternoon. Fully operational, every piece of heavy equipment inside the engine house not only still works but serves as vital of a role in keeping this railway alive as it did for the original train crews back in the early 1900's. |
