DMIR 215, the last maroon SD38-2 is in good company at Proctor, MN with the last SD45-2T (SD40-3) in maroon, DMIR 403, as well as Dash 8-40CW CN 2172. None of these locomotives were purchased new by the railroad they are painted in. DMIR 215 was built in March 1976 as BLE 892. DMIR 403 was built as SP 9184 in February 1972. CN 2172 began life as ATSF 821 in October 1992.
