Detroit, in the early 1960s, was not a hot bed of Pennsy activity, in terms of freight traffic; there was only one or two inbound trains per day. On the plus side, they were typically drawn by some of the newest power in the railroad’s stable. For example, PRR U25B 2530, with two EMD-built running mates, leads a Toledo-Detroit freight into a yard southeast of the Motor City. The U-boat was built in September 1964.
