Remarks & Notes |
ChS200 locomotive with passenger train from Saint Petersburg to Moscow goes after the snowfall near Zelenograd city. ChS200 is a highspeed (maximum speed of 200 km/h (130 mph) electric DC passenger locomotive made by "Skoda" for Soviet Union railways. Between 1979 and 1980 were built 12 locomotives used at the line between Saint-Petersburg and Moscow with highspeed trains. Nova days "Nevsky Express" is the last highspeed (with speed over 120 mhp) train with locomotive traction in Russia. Such trains were dismissed from work some years ago and was replaced by Siemens Velaro trains "Sapsan". Currently, there are only 2 units of ChS200 used in operation. Externally ChS200 is similar to ChS6 locomotive. |
