It's the night before Amtrak, and Penn Central train #8, the New York-Boston Merchants Limited, has completed its final run under private operation as it stands at the bumper in Boston's South Station. This was once the New Haven Railroad's premier train on the route, and its next run will be under Amtrak. The locomotive is an ex-PRR E8.
