Passing tranquil waters of the Missouri River entering Lombard Canyon is a westbound BNSF coal train on Montana Rail Link’s Second Subdivision late in the afternoon of July 2, 2017. The lead locomotives are soaking up some of the day’s last sunlight as they approach the east switch of Lombard siding.
