| Late in the afternoon, Cotton Belt 9298 West departs Roseville Yard at Antelope, CA. The train came over Donner Pass earlier in the afternoon with an SD45 helper coupled on behind its UP "pool" caboose. The traffic the on this train came off the UP at Ogden. When this traffic dries with the UP-WP merger in January 1983, traffic on the Hill will fall precipitously. |
