Sawatch Range or Braswell Mountain!?
After 4 hours, and 100+ mile morning mad dash the hot NS 223 (Kansas City,MO-Atlanta,GA) has finally come to a dead stop just south of the summit of the NS Atlanta North-End grueling grade Braswell Mountain (MP-109.8 Braswell). We're 1,161ft above sea level, and as you can tell the snow from the recent rare southeast winter storm Benji is still lingering around. This section of railroad was the center of attention during the storm as heavy wet snow has cause a lot of trees to fall over the mainline which has resulted into the busy crescent corridor to shutdown til everything was cleared. As of today with trains park all over the place for some unknown reason the dispatcher had a taxi order for the outbound crew before they go on the law. With the UP 1989 Rio Grande Commemorative Unit making a rare appearance, and the rare snow it look almost like were up on Tennessee Pass, but hey can a guy dream?
