Although it won’t commence paid excursions for another two weeks, the locomotive and six cars of the Chessie Steam Special are less than a mile into their first public appearance. Steaming out of Hellertown, Pennsylvania on the former Reading North Penn Branch, 4-8-4 2101 has begun the journey to the B&O in Philadelphia, and on down the B&O to Baltimore, where a dedication ceremony will occur in a week.
