Back when RDCs covered the bulk of service on Amtrak's Springfield-Hartford-New Haven line, the pair making up a late afternoon southbound run paused at Berlin, CT. The lead car in this set began life as Northern Pacific B30 before making its way to Amtrak. The former New Haven station behind the train was sadly destroyed by fire in 2016.
With double tracking, CT Rail, a new regional service, and restoration of Springfield Union Station, the Connecticut Valley line has become once more an exciting place for train watching.
