Continuing our tour of Westminster Junction in the early 1970s, this view is from the north side of the junction. In an interesting configuration of trackage, two sets of double track pass under the junction and come together here. I'm curious as to the pre-BN ownership of both the junction and these tracks which pass under it. To my father's back in this picture on the east side of the tracks is a former Northern Pacific Roundhouse (long since removed), so I'm guessing that these tracks are former Northern Pacific and the tracks in the junction above are former Great Northern. Here, an early BN train with a former CB&Q SD45 and two former Great Northern SD45s pass northbound underneath the junction. R.T. Steinbrenner Photo
