This is the view south from the Lafayette Road overpass in St. Paul on a blustery winter day. A Rock Island transfer disturbs the birds as it passes northbound towards Westminster Junction with second-hand locomotives. The ancestry of GP7 #4206 as Rio Grande is obvious, and, although repainted in the Rock Island livery, F9AM 4164 was from the Union Pacific. 4164 was built as an F3 and was rebuilt to the F9AM designation while on the Union Pacific.
