A 3 hour late train 202 accelerates over a small concrete overpass bound for Abingdon, and later Bristol, where the engine will be serviced and banked until the morning. A long exposure was flashed in 2 second intervals, leaving a ghost-like image in the position of each pulse of light.
This exposure was taken as part of a Lerro Productions photo charter on the Strasburg Railroad. The engine is not the real 382, of course, as the engine was scrapped is 1958 (the 'jewelry' of which was given to O. Winston Link). For a day, 475 was dressed as her long-deceased sister before going in for her 1472 day inspection.
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
