With a day of four round trips complete, Fillmore & Western No. 14 rests in the yard as the crew begins to thoroughly inspect the locomotive prior to putting her to bed for the night. One of these tasks includes checking the fuel level in the tender, which engineer Andy is captured doing here as he brings the dip-stick high into the air to inspect where the fuel level is at. Meanwhile, down below, other crew members work the alimite grease gun to feed the side-rods their endless diet of grease while others inspect the locomotive's air pump that has been continuously pounding throughout the day. Caring for a steam locomotive, large or small, is a labor of love that takes a special breed of people with the knowledge, skill set and will to keep them running.
