| The high and low roads over Newhall Pass. On the low road the eastbound Saugus Local behind a pair of ex-Cotton Belt GP40-2s slip through the curves east of CP Balboa on the old Saugus Line (now Metrolink's Valley Subdivision). The low road 'under' Newhall Pass was achieved by Espee's 6740' tunnel 25. In the background the 'high road' Interstate 5 can be seen as it heads over the top of Newhall Pass. |
