With Santa Fe's double-track main line far below, a heavy SP manifest out of West Colton roars up the steep grade of the Palmdale-Colton Cut-off. If you look closely, you can see that the SP line roughly follows the same contour as ATSF's. After SP 8690 is done battling Cajon, it'll still have Tehachapi to contend with.
