Remarks & Notes

Last Run of the Crusader. The Crusader was a high speed streamlined train operated by the Reading RR between Philadelphia and Jersey City. Over time service deteriorated to a pair of RDC cars operated by Conrail under contract to SEPTA. The end finally came in 1981. Pictured here is the last northbound "Crusader" - passing the ex Reading "Glenmoore" tower in Pennington, NJ.
