Usually relegated to local service, a recently rebuilt SD40E3 get out on the road to lead westbound mixed freight Q403 on CSX's Trenton Sub at CP TL in Oxford Valley, PA. This is the last of the batch of 13 SD40-2 rebuilds, and started life as a Seaboard Coastline unit before going to Seaboard, then eventually CSX.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
