On a late winter afternoon, an eastbound Boston & Maine freight coils through North Leominster, MA, on its way from Mechanicville, NY, to Portland, ME, behind a GP38-2/GP40-2/GP38-2 trio. New welded rail has been dropped along the eastbound track, which is out of service as a crew works a few miles away.
