Remarks & Notes
Reading Lines' star locomotives, T-1 class 4-8-4s Nos. 2124 and 2100, have run light from Tamaqua to Shamokin while a pair of FP-7s forwarded the Rail Ramble consist over the Catawissa Branch, where the big T-1s were restricted. At West Milton the dynamic duo re-coupled to their consist and forwarded the train east via Shamokin and Locust Summit. These rambles were sell-out affairs, originating in the Philadelphia area, Harrisburg or Reading and venturing to numerous freight-only segments of the system as well as some exhilarating main line running, lasting up to fourteen hours in duration. They were marvelous affairs and a wonderful way to spend an autumn day. The fare was a whopping $9.00.
