Edwards Motor Car on Parade. Tucson, Cornelia and Gila Bend Railroad Motor Car #401 is all decked out in holiday bunting as she leads off the Nevada State Railroad Museum's morning "Parade of Trains." This car was built in 1926 by the Edwards Motor Car Company of Sanford, North Carolina. She ran more than 783,000 miles during 21 years of service to the Tucson, Cornelia and Gila Bend before being retired and donated to Travel Town in Los Angeles, CA. She changed ownership a couple of times in the ensuing 4 decades, even doing a brief stint on the restored V&T in Virginia City. In 1988, she was donated to the NSRM. Painted to reflect her original owner, her gasoline burning engine was replaced by a more modern diesel, and she now has a fluid-drive transmission. She's often used to provide rides for museum patrons on weekends when steam is not operating.
