Remarks & Notes
An Amtrak passenger car in Huntington Beach, California was definitely something not seen every day. Amtrak car 8115 was sold to the Chew Chew restaurant and delivered by the Southern Pacific to the end of the SP branch line in Huntington Beach. I was part of a team that was hired to spend the night over a two week period for added security. Here the car is being lifted in preparation to be move to the restaurant site. The restaurant went out of business and the car was shipped by highway to Colton, California, where it was eventually scrapped.
