As evening sets in over the Sierra, accompanied by a thick layer of low clouds, a meet between east and west takes places at Norden. As the eastbound MRVNP's rear dupes prepare to ease into what remains of the Norden snow shed complex it is met by the glow of an approaching ZG2OA. Once the nerve center for Southern Pacific's winter operations on Donner Pass the Norden shed continues to serve an important role in Union Pacific's effort to keep the rails through the Sierra 'snow belt' open for commerce.
