Remarks & Notes |
Interlocking towers and signal boxes of the SBB are rather modern and technologically advanced generally, with 4 large operation centers supervising and controlling nearly the whole network. But there is a lonely island still, this is Biel RB (Biel shunting yard). Here the red semaphor signals, the blue shunting signals and the switches are operated manualy with levers and wires from a small signal box to this day. Re 620 # 053 is leaving Biel RB with a long freight to Limmattal shunting yard (RBL). The crossed signal on the right means: no shunting allowed. The other shunting signal on the left allows shunting. |
