Eastbound Metrolink Train # 704 is about to depart from the Downtown Perris Metrolink Depot with a soon to be retired F59PH in the lead. The next stop for this train is the end of the line at S. Perris Station, a large park 'n' ride lot. The Perris Valley Line sees infrequent service and the lack of ridership has contributed to it, especially since the train ride isn't time competitive with driving to Perris. To the left of the platform is what looks like room for a second track, but it will probably accommodate the Orange Empire Railway Museum excursion trains in the future. Presently, they stop a little short of where the museum's track interchanges with Metrolink.
Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
