The San Bernardino Rail Historical Society with permission from Amtrak hosted a rare night photo shoot on the grounds of Amtrak's 8th Street Yard. With the help of Steve Crise and his fantastic photography equipment, tonight offered the first ever night photo op of this massive steam engine sitting on the Redondo Turntable. Tonight also highlighted 3751's final moments under steam before it undergoes its FRA mandated boiler inspection, which is estimated to take about 2 years. A great job to those who put this together, and a fun night had by all participants.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
