This seemingly routine shot of a UP leader on a NS train passing a coal train in the siding in LaPorte, IN will quickly be forever changed. The ex-NYC signal bridge in the background is just about to be replaced with new signals, the top of which are just visible above the second unit in this photo taken on July2, 2017.
