In the last decade Southern Pacific owned the Molalla Branch, daytime movements were very rare. Normally, the branch was worked in the middle of the night by the Oregon City Switcher. After Dick Samuels bought the branch in February 1993, he used SP units until he could get one of his own locomotives moved to Canby. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, a Molalla Western train totes some cars to Molalla for storage. That is Mount Hood in the distance.
